“TU brought me to Special Olympics- it got me to a place I love and connected me to the people and a field I love.”
On the football field and in the classroom and the community, Jeff Miller is driven to lead and give back to his teammates and to those special students who count on him to guide them. As the quarterback for the TU Football team and a special education major, he finds common threads in the classroom, on the field and in the community.
“TU gave me the opportunity to pursue my career in football and also my passion as a special education teacher,” says Jeff. A TU professor with connections to Special Olympic opened the doors for Jeff and he walked through them and jumped right in. “I worked the summer and winter games and the pool events.”
Over 88% of TU students engage in experiential learning opportunities which provide the dual-benefit of real-world learning and real community impact.
