Honorables of Color Scholarship

Initiated by the student-founded and led organization of the same name, Honorables of Color (HOC), the scholarship is open to new students accepted and enrolled in the Honors College, who support marginalized communities.

Study Abroad Scholarship for Honors

When students immerse themselves in new and different cultures, they are able to navigate an increasingly complex globalized world. Funding opportunities for students to study abroad or study away, offer cultural experiences of which many students have only dreamed.

Experiential Learning Fund

Support student projects, and the costs associated with them, including conference participation where students have opportunities to meet, collaborate with and learn from peers, faculty scholars and business leaders from across the country and around the world.

Transfer Student Scholarship

Offering financial support to current TU students (who transfer into the Honors College) rewards those exceptional students for their scholarship and dedication, and challenges them to become part of the special family of Honors College scholars.

Living-Learning Communities Expansion

Expanding our living learning communities is a priority for the Honors College. Funding will grow on-campus Honors activities and community programming, so students can put their education to work in their communities and beyond.

The Public Communications Center

The Public Communication Center (PCC) serves thousands of Tigers across campus in the areas of communication, writing and public speaking. Students mentor other students by providing writing workshops, one-on-one tutoring and speech-giving advice. Your support will help create paid opportunities for students, including student mentor services and funding for a part-time PCC assistant director.

The TU Marching Band (TUMB)

The TUMB builds more than Tiger pride during athletic events and parades, it is tied to critical music education curriculum, where music students get hands-on conducting, choreographing, and directing experience. Among other needed support, most urgent is a new conductor’s stand which will ensure the safety of our student musicians.

TU Student Abroad Programs and Student Travel

Supporting the travel costs for regional internships and study away programs ensures our students remain engaged as civically-inspired citizens, both on- and off-campus. Experiential learning builds real-world relationships and networking opportunities, helping students realize their career goals.

Career Advising

Supporting the Career Center and Career Advising is important for our students’ and recent graduates’ professional success. Mastering the art of the interview, creating impressive resumes, developing a professional image, finding internships/experiential learning opportunities, career mentoring and readiness coaching and one-on-one career counseling, all help students prepare for and discover their career paths.

Student Leadership Development

Supporting TU’s Leadership Development Programs helps students identify and build skills and experiences, critical to ensuring leadership success. Gifts to leadership development and student programming benefit classroom, co-curricular activities, residence halls and Greek life.

Student Wellness

Student wellbeing is at the core of student success. For young adults to thrive in an academic environment they must be ready to learn and excel physically, mentally and emotionally. The new Office of Student Wellness will include Campus Recreation and the Health Center and Counseling Center and will coordinate programming for all parts of campus–caring for the minds, bodies and souls of our students.

Military and Veterans Center

Recognized as one of the “top military friendly universities,” TU’s Military and Veterans Center (MVC) promotes a safe and like-minded community for members of our armed forces, through personal growth, career development opportunities and in-school support. Support from donors extends the Center’s programming and outreach efforts to ensure our veterans, and reservists receive the support they deserve and have earned.

Student Emergency Scholarships: The College of Liberal Arts Opportunity Scholarship

This scholarship fund is a ready source of financial support for students with unanticipated needs and costs not covered by financial aid.

Study Abroad Opportunities in the College of Liberal Arts

Providing a study abroad experience is important for students of color, first-generation college students, students with disabilities, students identifying as LGBTQIA+, and those with financial need and prepares them for success through diverse and culturally fulfilling experiences.

Undergraduate Research

Undergraduate research opportunities distinguish TU by offering students invaluable experience, usually reserved for graduate students. While moderate grants of $500 are awarded for research, making larger awards available will enable more first-generation, under-resourced, and under-represented students the opportunity to engage in research.

Summer Internships

Summer work prevents under-resourced students from internship experiences, many of which lead to job opportunities after graduation. With funding for summer internships, students will have greater opportunities for internship placements.

Conference travel

Funding student travel to professional conferences, provides valuable opportunities for students to meet fellow students and faculty engaged in similar work and often leads to research and graduate opportunities.

Student Scholarships

The College of Business and Economics offers nearly 25 student scholarships which ensure that students with economic need, and those who excel academically, are supported and rewarded. Consider supporting one of the following: Sam Barone Scholarship, Tignanelli Family Endowment, James Dunbar Jr. Scholarship, Gwen Dunbar Scholarship, Accounting Alumni Scholarship, M. Hojati-Kaynama Endowed Scholarship, Rising Star Endowed Scholarship or Woroby/Zercoe Scholarship in Economics.

MentHER Program

The MentHER program empowers women by focusing on financial literacy, career planning, and life and workplace skills. MentHER connects professional business women mentors with CBE sophomores, who in turn, mentor high school students in the Baltimore area. This “lift as you rise” program combines networking and mentorship among women to support the growth, education, and empowerment of college and high school students.

Undergraduate Research

Exceptional undergraduate research and original scholarly and creative activity, under the mentorship of TU faculty members, are supported and eligible for competitive funding.

Tigers Well-Suited Wardrobe

Support for this professional closet provides suits for College of Business and Economics students with financial limitations. The clothing is in excellent, gently used condition and has been styled to meet current trends in professional attire. Donations make dry cleaning and accessorizing possible.

Scholarships

Funding scholarships, including endowed scholarships, support many programs in the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics. Two programs, in particular, are timely and relevant to TU’s goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Hill-Lopes Scholars Program supports women in STEM. Students receive a stipend each semester and financial support to participate in undergraduate research, attend professional scientific meetings and career-building conferences and workshops. Willard Hackerman Scholarships are reserved for incoming first year students from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute who major in a program housed in Fisher.

Experiential Learning Opportunities

Undergraduate Student Research Opportunities– Collaborative research with faculty-mentors and fellow students brings learning to life. Providing research stipends offers many students the opportunity to forgo full- or part-time work that would otherwise make research experiences impossible.

Student Conference Travel– Funding provides opportunities for students to travel to conferences and research summits, where students experience peer-to-peer learning and make future graduate school and employment connections.

Textbook and E-Textbook Resources

Textbook access and virtual learning affordability impacts student outcomes and graduation rates. Funding will make alternatives to textbooks and a repository of textbooks accessible for all students.

A-LIST Program

The Albert S. Cook Library Leadership Institute for Students (A-LIST) Program provides outstanding TU students with leadership training, mentoring, and project management experience. Support for this program offers three students, selected for this year-long program, the opportunity to develop library initiatives that have a lasting impact on the library, the university, and the community.

Student Scholarships

Scholarships change students’ lives and the future of health professions. With scholarship support, students are able to achieve goals and enter the healthcare workforce with professional careers that will last a lifetime.  Scholarships are an investment in the wellness, health, recovery and quality of life for families and our communities. The DreamMaker Scholarship Fund provides support for students with the greatest financial need. 

Athletics Scholarships/Endowments

In the past six years, scholarships have grown by an impressive 25 percent, offering more Tiger athletes the opportunity to compete at the DI level. Support will help grow scholarships, so opportunities for our student-athletes continue to grow as well. Consider supporting one of these scholarships: Evan A. Tiger Athletic Fund

The Tiger Athletic Fund relies on our donors to offer enhanced opportunities and scholarships for over 500 student-athletes each year. Gifts of all sizes make an impact by offsetting operational costs, allowing coaches and staff to address a wider range of needs for competitive excellence and student-athlete health and well-being, including nutrition, travel, recruiting and equipment.
